Develop your creative talents

We offer specialist training and education from short courses to advanced diplomas.

Our courses will prepare you to be a jeweller, jewellery designer, model maker, bench worker, manager of a jeweller’s workshop or retail outlet, or a specialist in jewellery adjustments and repairs.

Advanced Diploma of Jewellery + Object Design

During this 3 year full-time course (part-time study mode available) you will develop a wide range of specialist technical skills which can be used in jewellery and object design.

The course aims to prepare you for a career as a jewellery designer/maker in your own studio/workshop.

Advanced Diploma of Jewellery + Object Design

Diploma of Jewellery + Object Design

Prepare yourself for a career as a jewellery designer through our 2 year course. 

You will learn how to apply artistic, critical and visual judgement to a design brief and to develop a range of innovative design solutions and practical skills in the realisation of your ideas.

Certificate III in Jewellery Manufacture

Study while you work in the jewellery industry. You will learn drawing and illustration techniques and how to manufacture individual pieces of finely handcrafted jewellery using a wide range of materials and techniques.

Priority is given to apprentices or people working full-time in the manufacturing jewellery industry.

Short courses in jewellery making and design

We run a number of short courses for people wanting to learn how to make jewellery.

In our small classes, you will be trained by our teachers who are highly-qualified experts in their field.

Short course student | 2013

Intro to Jewellery Making

Learn the skills required to make jewellery and objects with our Intro to Jewellery Making short course. We will teach you how to use a piercing saw, a small bench drill and a micro motor to file, solder and hand-finish metals.

Feeling more confident? Develop and realise your own designs with our Design and Make your own Jewellery short course. Learn construction techniques including cold joining, soldering, fabrication, surface texturing, fold forming and basic stone-setting.

Small class sizes will cater to individual needs in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Designing jewellery with Rhino

In this short course you will learn the how to use Rhino — Rhinoceros and Rhinoceros Gold — software for 3 dimensional modelling, designing and visualisation of jewellery.

Learn to develop and communicate jewellery designs and accurately model and document your designs for rendering, analysis and manufacture.

Clasps and Findings short course

Develop and create with beads in the Clasps and Findings short course.

The course covers the techniques needed in the fabrication of components such as chain links, head pins, bails, toggle clasps, ear hooks and one off clasps. These items can be incorporated into jewellery designs of earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

Our experienced, qualified teachers will demonstrate metal bead making using two different types of casting techniques.

Beading and Wire Textile Techniques short course

Experiment with wires and beads to create one-of-a-kind beaded pieces in the Beading and Wire Textile Techniques short course.

The course explores possibilities of creating jewellery with wire using traditional and contemporary textile techniques.

As skills increase, you will learn how to incorporate beads into your designs and create anything from rings to necklaces and bangles.
