Interest or leisure

If you want to study for interest or leisure Sydney TAFE has a large range of courses, many of them offered on weekday evenings and some on the weekend.

Find your passion

Studying for interest or leisure is a great way to try studying without a long-term commitment. Sydney TAFE short courses range from a few hours up to 18 weeks and some lead to nationally-accredited qualifications.

Apprentice or trainee

Learn a trade or workplace skill, get a nationally accredited qualification, and be paid while you train.

Apprenticeships and traineeships can be done either full time or part time. Regional students may study in 'block release' mode - this means you come to college for one-two weeks at set times during the year. The minimum age is 16 years (or 18 years if serving alcohol) and there is no maximum age.
