Computer and office skills





Ultimo TAFE Outreach is offering two courses that can teach basic to intermediate skills in computer and office skills.

Course in Basic Computing for Work and Education

A computer course for beginners who need to develop basic computer skills. You will learn about the internet, emails, and explore job- and course-searching skills. You’ll also use word processing to write a resume and cover letter.
Class starts at Ultimo TAFE on Wednesday 15 February, from 10am to 2:30pm.

Course in Business Skills for the Office

This course will cover working in an office environment. You will build on existing computing skills such as word processing, work health and safety, internet, researching project, filing, basic Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations, emailing – making the most of your email, including creating groups and distribution lists.

Topics include:
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Work as a team in a simulated business environment
• Writing and communication skills 
• Internet and Emailing skills

Class starts at Ultimo TAFE on Thursday 23 February, 10am to 2:30pm.

Please bring current IDs such as Medicare card, license, passport, Centrelink Card and birth certificate to get your Unique Student Identifier, or go to www.usi.gov.au to get your USI number and bring it with you. Both courses are are Work Development Order (WDO) approved courses – you may be eligible for your attendance to go towards paying off fines.
