National Simultaneous Storytime 2018
at TAFE NSW Loftus library

On Wednesday 23 May we shared a lovely National Simultaneous Storytime with the children from Loftus TAFE childcare centre.  We started with an activity to make sure everyone had used up their extra energy and were ready to listen. Since the story was based on the rhyme Hickory Dickory Dock, we made clock shapes with our arms.

Then the children sat quietly while our Library Tech student Natalie read the story. This year it was Hickory Dickory Dash by Tony Wilson, illustrated by Laura Wood.

It was a very exciting story, mummy mouse is looking for her two sons and trying to avoid the hungry cat! It all ended happily, for the mice at least.

We finished with an activity from the ALIA website, colouring finger puppets of the characters from the story.

We presented a copy of the book to the childcare centre so that the children could hear the story again. And National Simultaneous Storytime was over for another year.
