Study tours and international exchange program

Take part in an overseas study tour with a group of fellow students or spend a semester living and studying in another country through our international exchange program. Meet industry professionals, make friends and gain a global perspective for your future career.

We offer exchange programs to Denmark, Singapore, the UK and Japan; opportunities to volunteer in India and Samoa; and study tours to destinations as varied as New York, Los Angeles, North Sulawesi, India and China.

Workplace learning and industry experience

We know our students value our industry connections so many of our courses offer work placements and internships, take students out for workplace visits or invite industry speakers to present in class.

Job advertisements

Careers Connect is a career development tool and job vacancy service available to our students. Job vacancies are listed by employers wanting to employ current TAFE students and recent graduates. This service is brought to you by the Student Association.

Student and alumni art gallery

The Limelight Gallery exhibits and sells the creative works of Sydney TAFE students and alumni. The gallery is an online space that will re-launch in the second half of 2015.

Expressions of Interest

Current students and graduates will be  encouraged to submit for consideration their paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, digital images, jewellery, tableware, millinery, fashion design and other fine arts works. You are not required to be enrolled in a fine arts or design discipline but submissions can only be accepted in conjunction with a current or completed course at Sydney TAFE.

Volunteer abroad through programs run by the 40K Foundation (India) and Groundswell (Samoa). Give back to the community and develop you skills at the same time.

Student Association

Join the Student Association, run for election as an Association board member and develop your group, presentation and networking skills. Being actively involved with the Student Association is a great way to improve career-related skills such as meeting management, team work, communication and presenting/public speaking.

Leadership programs, events, live music, table tennis, free BBQs and many other Student Association activities offer many opportunities to mix with other students and have some fun!

Learn a language

We teach 10 popular Asian and European languages, including Chinese, Korean, Spanish and Italian. Classes are offered on week nights and weekends. You can study a nationally-accredited program at beginner's level through to advanced level.

Learn from fellow students from around the world

Every year Sydney TAFE accepts over 2,000 international students from over 70 countries to study at one of our seven campus locations. This provides all Sydney TAFE students with the opportunity for cross-cultural learning.
