Keeping Safe @ TAFE: Information for students and visitors

The Keeping Safe @ TAFE – WHS brochure is for students and visitors that provides advice on what you need to do to help keep Sydney TAFE healthy and safe.

No Smoking policy

Smoking is not permitted within any building or undercover area on TAFE NSW grounds. Students must obey no-smoking signage and may smoke only in designated smoking areas.
Actions may be taken in accordance with the TAFE NSW Student Discipline Policy against students who disobey these directions.

First aid

Ultimo College has first aid officers and a first aid room on campus. If you need help please ask a member of staff or security personnel. Security can also provide details of the nearest medical centres.

Emergency phone numbers

In case of a life threatening situation when emergency assistance is required from the police, ambulance or fire brigade:

  • call 9217 3333 — Sydney TAFE's 24 hours emergency number, or
  • call 000 — Triple Zero is Australia's Emergency Call Service for the police, ambulance or fire brigade.

Students seeking support for personal or academic matters may access a range of student services, including counselling and career and course guidance.
