Services

Loftus TAFE library offers orientation tours and a number of workshops for groups and individuals.

Library orientation tours

Library orientation tours present an overview of the services and facilities provided by your Sydney TAFE library.

Information literacy workshops

These workshops are developed and delivered in partnership between librarians and teaching staff. They are organised within an appropriate area of the curriculum, and focus on a specific assignment.

Activities are designed to develop skills in researching, collecting, analysing and organising information, communicating ideas and using technology.

Internet training sessions

Sessions include:

  • Basic and advanced search techniques
  • What is the ‘hidden’ web?
  • Evaluating information found on the web

Online databases

The Library subscribes to various online databases covering many subjects. You can access journal articles, standards, eBooks and streamed videos with your DEC username and password.

Training is provided on how to search these databases effectively to find information relevant to your needs.

Contact the library to book a session or discuss your library training needs.
