Advanced Research skills
Assignment based workshops to assist you with locating specific information for your course. This includes advanced use of search engines and online databases, and helps you to choose quality, authoritative information. Information on how to create bibliographies is included.
Using TAFE online services
Workshops give help on how to use the DEC student portal, Moodle and Student e-Services, plus an introduction to the Library website, TAFE library catalogue and TAFE Studylinks directory.
Using digital resources via Course research guides
Your librarians have created Course research guides which contain links to journal articles, standards, eBooks and streamed videos. You are shown how to access this information on the guides using your DEC username and password.
The Library subscribes to online databases covering many subjects. Training is provided on how to search the databases effectively to find information relevant to your needs.
Job seeking skills
Tips on how to effectively use online Career sites and how to write resumes and cover letters. Sessions may include role-plays of job interviews.
