Order of proceedings for graduation ceremonies
Please arrive for registration at the time stated on your invitation.
The formal part of your ceremony will last around one hour and will include a welcome address from a senior member of the college or faculty, an address from a nominated fellow graduate as well as, in some cases, an address from an industry representative or special guest. This will be followed by the presentation of achievement awards before the main presentation of the graduation certificates where you will be called to stage to receive your testamur.
Out of courtesy to your fellow graduates, you are politely requested to stay for the duration of the ceremony to recognise your classmates’ success.
A celebratory reception will be held either prior or at the end of the ceremony where light refreshments will be served.
All events are expected to finish by 9:00 pm
Please check your invitation for any dress code. Most graduation events advise smart casual or business attire.
Graduating in absentia
It is not compulsory to attend your graduation ceremony. If you are unable or do not wish to attend, you can contact Customer Service at any time after course completion to receive your testamur.
Don’t forget to register for the Sydney TAFE Alumni programme - all graduates of Sydney TAFE are welcome to join. As a member of the Alumni you will be invited to exclusive networking events, exhibition previews and presentations, meet with our Ambassadors, plus have further access to career support from Sydney TAFE. You can register to join at your graduation or join now.
