    Course description and aims

    Make magic happen on your iPhone using Swift! iOS is the most advanced mobile operating system being at the heart of every iPhone and iPad.

    Using object-oriented programming we teach you how to get started with application development for iPhones. We are going to build an app through which we will introduce the main components and frequently used building blocks.

    In this Two-Part course, Part 2 will teach you:

    6. MVC, Navigation and Segues
    7. Accessing the Camera/Photo Library
    8. Geocoding with MapKit
    9. Persist Objects using Core Data

    This Two-Part course provides a solid foundation for beginners to start their journey into an exciting and rewarding world of iOS mobile development. On completion of this course you become proficient in the fundamentals of iOS development and perfectly equipped to dive into intermediate topics offered in our Develop iPhone Apps with Swift (Intermediate) course.

    Entry requirements

    An understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) with Swift is required. We recommend our Swift Essentials course as an essential starting point.

    This course is available to Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents who are over 15 years of age, have left school and live or work in NSW.

    Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.

    Wednesday, 7 February 2018 at 2:00pm or 6:00pm at Ultimo Campus, Thomas Street Ultimo, Building G, Ground Level, room GG.19.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class a week over 2 days for 2 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30pm to 4:30pm; plus one full Saturday, from 10:00am to 4:30pm.
