    Course description and aims

    This Two-Part course is intended to provide the back-end server-side Web API solution for the client-side app developed throughout our Develop iPhone Apps with Swift (Intermediate) course.

    In this Two-Part course, Part 1 will cover:

    1. REST based communications over HTTP
    2. Configuring a Server Scheme
    3. Designing and Building the Service API

    Junior web developers, testers or debuggers.

    Recommended Pathways

    Continue with Develop Web APIs with Swift- Part 2.
    On completion of Part 1 and 2, you can expect to become proficient in the fundamentals of server-side web-service development.

    Having completed the Develop iPhone Apps with Swift (Intermediate) Part 1 and 2 is preferred, alternatively you are familiar with web development and client-side applications.

    This course is available to Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents who are over 15 years of age, have left school and live or work in NSW.

    INFORMATION SESSION

    Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.

    Wednesday, 11 April at 6:00pm at Ultimo College, Thomas Street Ultimo, Building G, Ground Level, Room GG.19.

    Total Volume of Learning hours approx. 100 hrs. This course is of 2 weeks duration, 9 hours a week. The Learner is also expected to research and additional study and homework each week up to the 50 hrs depending on skills and experience.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class a week over 2 days per week for 2 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30pm to 4:30pm; plus one full Saturday, 10:00am to 4:30pm.
