    Course description and aims

    In this course you will learn how to use efficient HTML coding practices to create webpages that work and will continue to work in the ever-changing world of web development. We will start from the ground up by learning how to implement modern web pages by using a simple text editor and writing HTML, CSS for styling and JavaScript code to make the pages dynamic.

    In this two part course, Part 2 will cover:

    1. The fundamentals of JavaScript
    2. How to make your pages more dynamic with basic JavaScript

    This is meant to provide a starting point for learning the basics of web development. After completing this course you become fully equipped to dive deep into our more advanced web development courses (Java or C#).

    Once completed the applicants can expect to become proficient in the following tasks:

    * Create a web page using HTML elements
    * Be able to apply CSS (style sheet rules) to parts of a web page, for altering display and behaviour
    * Be able to program interactive JavaScript in a web page

    Entry requirements

    No previous experience of these technologies is necessary, although it is required some basic computer literacy and proficiency on Windows, Apple Mac OS X or Linux.

    This course is available to Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents who are over 15 years of age, have left school and live or work in NSW.

    Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.

    Wednesday, 7 February 2018 at 2.00pm or 6:00pm at Ultimo College Thomas Street Ultimo, Building G, Ground Level, Room GG.19.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class over 2 days a week for 2 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday and Wednesday, 1.30pm to 4.30pm; plus one full Saturday 10:00am to 4:30pm.
