    Course description and aims

    Looking to expand your object-orientated programming skills into the world of web development? Then learn ASP.NET MVC, the modern, open source web-development framework from Microsoft.

    ASP.NET MVC gives you a powerful, patterns-based way to build dynamic websites that enables a clean separation of concerns and that gives you full control over markup for enjoyable, agile development.

    In this Two-Part course, Part 2 will cover:

    1. Basics of ASP.NET MVC
    2. HTTP Application Protocol
    3. Routing and controllers
    4. Bootstrap CSS
    5. Views with Razor syntax
    6. View models and data annotations
    7. Layered application architecture

    This course will provide you with all the skills you need to learn to develop your own ASP.NET MVC web applications.

    An understanding of object-orientated programming (OOP) and the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required. We recommend our Develop Web Apps with C# (Introductory) Part 1 & 2, or Develop Web Apps with Java (Introductory) Part 1 & 2, as an essential starting point for OOP.

    For the web skills, we recommend our Develop Web Apps using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript courses.

    This course is available to Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents who are over 15 years of age, have left school and live or work in NSW.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class a week over 2 days per week for 2 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday, Wednesday 1:30pm to 4:30pm and Saturday 10:00am to 4:30pm
