    Course description and aims

    This course comprises the following three modules from the Certificate IV in Building & Construction: Read and Interpret Plans, Prepare Simple Sketches & Drawings and Arrange Building Applications and Approvals. These three modules will introduce you to the different types of drawings and documents used in the construction industry, instruct you on how to prepare simple drawings and sketches, and teach you how to read and interpret typical construction drawings. In addition to the above skills, this course will introduce you to the building application and approval process for residential buildings in NSW. It will cover the typical Application forms and Checklists that form part of the building applications to Statutory Authorities and Principle Certifying Authorities.

    You will need to attend approximately 4 hours of class a week over 1 day. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday or Tuesday, 5:30pm to 9:30pm
