    Course description and aims

    The Statement of Attainment in Public Relations is a 3 week practical training course focusing on building your public relations knowledge and skills.
    This course introduces learners to the field of public relations and provides a foundational knowledge of public relations practice. Students will develop an understanding of the role of Public Relations, how to design a PR campaign, build a publicity kit, PR's role in crisis management, fundraising, sponsorship and the various communication strategies, platforms and tactics in public relations management. Students are encouraged to explore the different types of public relations practice and to begin positioning themselves to develop a career in the field.

    On successful completion of the course you will be awarded the Statement of Attainment in Public Relations and be credited with the following units of competency:
    1. BSBPUB401 Develop and apply knowledge of public relations industry
    2. BSBPUB501 Manage the public relations publication process
    3. BSBPUB502 Develop and manage complex public relations campaigns

    Students are then also encouraged to go on to complete the BSB50215 - Diploma of Business with advanced standing
    (You need only do another 6 units to achieve BSB50215 - Diploma of Business (Public Relations) qualification)

    1. an Australian citizen or meet the criteria of being an Australian permanent resident, a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen

    You will need to attend approximately 7 hours of class a week over 3 days per week. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30am to 4:30pm
