    Course description and aims

    MYOB is a computerised accounting package that gives you the ability to handle your business finances like a professional. The benefits are many and once you use the program correctly you should start reaping them immediately.
    This Statement of Attainment in Setup and Operate a Computerised Accounting System (MYOB) is a short practical course designed for people wishing to have the skills and knowledge required to modify and operate an integrated computerised accounting system. This encompasses processing transactions within the system, maintaining the system, producing reports and ensuring system integrity.
    You will learn how to:
    1. set up an organisationÂ’s chart of accounts by modifying an established integrated financial software system
    2. implement an integrated accounting system, ensuring integrity of the data
    3. process transactions within the integrated system and generate reports and print, if required
    4. maintain the integrated system.

    After completing this training candidates may enrol in Certificate IV Accounting/Bookkeeping, Cert IV Financial Services, Certificate III in Business Administration.

    Entry requirements

    To access government-subsidised training in TAFE NSW, including fee exemptions or concessions, you must be:
    an Australian citizen or meet the criteria of being an Australian permanent resident, a humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen
    aged 15 years or older
    no longer be at school and
    living or working in NSW OR
    registered as a NSW apprentice or new entrant trainee.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class a week over 1 day per week for 8 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Saturday, 9:00am to 3:30pm.
