    Course description and aims

The Statement of Attainment in Small Business Essentials is a practical short course, where you will learn the essential skills for any person wishing to operate and run a small business.
Most owners get into business because they are really good at what they do, usually creating a product or doing a service, so they start their own business.
But a new business owner needs so much more than to be just good at their area of expertiseÂ…they also need to be good at core business skillsÂ… or at least have acquired some essential skills to start, run and grow a business and to succeed in day-to-day business operations.

A large factor that causes the failure of small business owners is the lack of these business management skills, and so in this course you will be learning essential business management skills and achieving the following units of competence:

BSBSMB201 - Identify Suitability for Micro Business
BSBSMB303 - Organise finances for the micro business
BSBSMB301 - Investigate micro business opportunities
