Course description and aims
The Statement of Attainment in Arts Business Part 1 Â– Business and Finance Basics is a practical handson introduction to business which has been specifically tailored to people with an arts background. Lead by an exceptional trainer with a strong background in the arts industries, this valuable course will help you to navigate your way through the demands of running your own arts business.
You will be learning the following units:
BSBSMB302 - Develop a Micro Business Proposal
BSBSMB304 - Determine Resource Requirements for the Micro Business
BSBSMB305 - Comply with regulatory, taxation and insurance requirements for the micro business
BSBFIA301- Maintain financial records
BSBSMB303- Organise finances for the micro business
Please note the course is designed specifically for people with an arts or creative background and who want to enhance their business skills.
Course outcomes and careers
To enrol in a fully government subsidised course you must:
be aged 15 years or older
have completed year 10 (or its equivalent)
have left or be eligible to leave school
have a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
be living or working in NSW, and
be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen.

Enrol at any location
You will need to attend approximately 8 hours of class a week over 4 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday 9:30am to 4:30pm

This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you won't have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.
4 days training. Students will attend for 4 Mondays 9.30am to 4.30pm starting Monday 24th of April till Monday 15th May 2017. Classes on those Mondays are held in the new centre for Community Education and Arts Development, Yaama Dhiyaan, 255 Wilson Street (Corner Codrington Street), North Eveleigh, NSW
