Course description and aims
If youÂ’d love to work in the vibrant, fast-paced and endlessly entertaining events industry, this is the place to start! This course will provide you with the administrative skills you need to get your foot in the door of the industry through work as an event assistant, exhibition assistant, conference assistant or a similar role.
YouÂ’ll be introduced to the industry by learning about current and emerging trends, how the industry is structured, what technology is used and the key environmental, community, legal and ethical issues that industry professionals need to consider and apply in their day-to-day work. YouÂ’ll also learn how to coordinate meetings, conferences, community, sporting and cultural events and explore issues around staging and production.

You will need to attend approximately 10 hours of class over 2 days per week. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday and Wednesday, 9:30am to 3:00pm.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to Sydney TAFE and the government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
