Course description and aims
This qualification is aimed at those who work in kitchens and perform a limited range of limited range of food preparation, using basic cookery skills to prepare food and menu items. You will work in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision, and this course does not provide the skills required by commercial cooks.
People who complete this course can work in kitchen operations in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops; and institutions such as aged care facilities, hospitals, prisons, and schools.

You will need to attend approximately 18 hours of class a week over 3 days per week . An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday 09:00am to 04:00pm, Thursday 09:00am to 2:30pm and Friday 09:00am to 2:30pm.
