    Course description and aims

If you dream of working as a successful beauty therapist with a loyal client base, happy staff and your own beauty salon, this is the course that can help you to make it happen.

YouÂ’ll learn high-level skills in beauty therapy from top to toe, including lash and brow services, advanced facial treatments (such as microdermabrasion techniques to improve the appearance of your clientsÂ’ skin), body treatments, manicure and pedicare services, make-up for photography and more.

YouÂ’ll also be given an overview of the role of physiology, healthy nutrition and skin science play in helping your clients to become their beautiful best. And youÂ’ll learn how to interpret the chemical composition and physical actions of different cosmetic products.

In addition to the core units of study, there are some exciting electives in specialist beauty areas such as blending and applying aromatic plant oils for treatments or massage therapies, including stone therapy massage, reflexology and Indian head massage.

This is a very practical course and as part of your training, you and the other students enrolled in the course will need to practise your new skills on each other. This will necessarily involve touch but thereÂ’s no need to worry. Your teacher will ensure it is always done safely and in accordance with industry codes of practice and ethics. There are also industry dress codes that apply.

Beautician (small business), Senior Beauty Therapist, massage therapist (elective dependent).
