    Course description and aims

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals employed as make-up artists to design and apply make-up for a range of purposes and occasions across the beauty, fashion, media and entertainment industries.

    These individuals possess a range of well-developed technical and consultation skills where discretion and judgement is required and are responsible for their own outputs. This includes working cooperatively with a range of individuals including photographers, fashion stylists and media production staff.

    Work is typically conducted as part of a team or on a freelance basis in settings such as make-up studios, retail cosmetic counters, fashion and media sets and photography studios.

    No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

    Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.

    Wednesday 6 December 2017 OR Wednesday 24 January 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm OR from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Surtherland College, Gymea Campus, corner of Hotham and the Kingsway, Gymea, Building A, Level 2, Room A2.14.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 18 hours of class a week over 3 days per week. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm

    A make up kit will be required to successfully complete this course and will cost approximately $495.

    You will receive the kit information at your first class. Additionally as part of your assessment you will be required to do a photoshoot at the cost of $220.
