    Course description and aims

    The Diploma of Civil Construction Design reflects the role of personnel working as designers or design para-professionals who support professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the clientÂ’s site requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

    After completing this nationally-recognised qualification, students will be ready for immediate employment in the fields of Civil and Structural Engineering as Site manager, engineering project officer, design, quantity surveyor, draftsperson or other roles which support professional engineers.

    Students graduating with Diploma of Civil Construction Design can move on to University studies with reduced study times. For example, Deakin University will credit your studies for up to 1 year against a 4-year Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree. This pathway does not require ATAR and cost 15% less than going directly to university.

    The Units of Study and associated fees for this course are detailed below. Fees are charged on the census day for each unit of study. To secure a loan for part or all of your course, you must be eligible and submit a valid application to the Commonwealth for a VET Student Loan. You may withdraw prior to the census date without incurring a fee.

    Plus one evening per week, 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

    After completing this nationally-recognised qualification, students will be ready for immediate employment in the fields of Civil and Structural Engineering as Site manager, engineering project officer, design, quantity surveyor, draftsperson or other roles which support professional engineers.

    Students graduating with Diploma of Civil Construction Design can move on to University studies with reduced study times. For example, Deakin University will credit your studies for up to 1 year against a 4-year Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree. This pathway does not require ATAR and cost 15% less than going directly to university.
