Patternmaking-Master the Collar course details
Course description and aims
This is a handÂ’s on workshop and the learner will complete a variety of patterns for collars.
The learner will gain skills and knowledge to identify collar types, construction technique required for basic collars, collar variations and fit adjustments.
At The end of this course students will be able to:
* Identify the different collars and their variations
* Construct a variety of basic collars and variations
* Have an understanding of the effects of grainlines and structure of fabric can have on a collar
* Identify collar fit issues and adjust accordingly
* Test patterns in calico
* Identify how basic collar constructions can be applied to other design features.
Completing Patternmaking-Master the Collar will contribute 9 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 and 7.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

You will need to attend approximately 3 hours of class a week over 1 evening per week for 3 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Wednesday, 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Students will need to provide their own personal sewing and cutting equipment e.g. pins, fabric and paper scissors, tape measure, quick unpick, clippers, note pad and pen. Other resources will be provided.
