    Course description and aims

    The aim of this course is to provide teachers with the foundation skills to identify and harness the potential productivity and innovation benefits available for small organisations through the use of cloud services and how those services can be incorporated into organisations.

    Coverage includes cloud technologies, standards and delivery models. Different business cases will be presented and analysed to show how cloud computing services can meet business needs in a variety of scenarios. Evaluation of benefits and challenges of adopting cloud services, as well as risk mitigation strategies. Discussions about the challenges for individuals and business in the areas of security, privacy, data access and control, in line with Australian regulations.

    Students will be provided with hands-on practical experience which will familiarise them to the wide range of cloud services available from different providers including Amazon Web Services, MicrosoftÂ’s Azure and RackSpace.

    Completing Cloud Computing will contribute 24 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 and 7.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

    This is an endorsed NESA course. TAFE NSW is endorsed to provide NESA Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at Proficient level.
