    Course description and aims

    This qualification MST60116 Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising reflects the specialisation - Design and Product Development. This course is intended for design and product development roles in the fashion industry, as well as roles associated with managing fashion business as part of an enterprise. Skills include design and product development, as well as technical production skills and business.

    Skills may be applied at various stages across the design, production and supply chain continuum, according to workplace roles and enterprise requirements. Outcomes allow for specialisation in fashion design or business, as well as generalist roles.

    This qualification applies to management of textile, clothing and footwear (TCF) operations that requires knowledge of fashion design and technical production processes, the use of emerging technologies and TCF merchandising techniques that may be applied at various stages of the supply chain.

    There are no specific licences that relate to this qualification. However, some units in this qualification may have licensing or regulatory requirements in some environments. Local regulations should be checked for details.

    This is Advanced Entry only offer. Entry into this offer is from successful completion of MST50116 Diploma of Applied Fashion Design & Merchandising - Design & Product Development or equivalent.
    Successful completion of the Diploma of will provide a Credit Transfer of 35 units towards the Advanced Diploma. An additional 10 units are required for completion of the Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising.


    INFORMATION SESSION

    Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.

    Thursday, 25 January 2018 from 12:30pm at Ultimo College, Mary Ann Street, Building H, Level 2, Room H2.30

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 18 hours of class over 3 days a week for 1 year. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday to Thursday, 9:00am to 4:00pm.
