Course description and aims
The Bachelor of Property Valuation is a three year professional degree that prepares graduates for work as a property valuer in a range of contexts across residential, commercial and public sectors, both nationally and internationally. Whilst focussing on the skills required to work professionally as a property valuer, the course will also provide background and preparation for a number of specialised areas of valuation practice.
The aim of this course is to develop multi-skilled graduates who can actively engage in the valuation industry, with a comprehensive knowledge of current valuation methodology, theory and practical experience. Graduates will possess a thorough understanding of the principles that underpin the realisation of valuation concepts.
Students will actively engage and experiment with property valuation techniques and processes, as well as undertaking site visits and field trips, and interacting with industry practitioners. Graduates of the course will have the knowledge and skills required to practice as a registered valuer in NSW, and to apply for membership of a range of national and international property industry professional associations.
Target audience: School leavers or graduates of Certificate IV or higher programs in valuation / property / real estate.
Course outcomes and careers
Advanced standing may be available for students who have completed the Advanced Diploma of Property Services (Valuation).
Students completing the Bachelor of Property Valuation may be eligible for entry into post-graduate programs at universities and other higher education institutions which offer valuationa and/or property programs.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants are required to hold, at minimum, one of the following to be considered eligible for admission:
- a NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate) or equivalent;
- a recognised Tertiary Preparation Certificate;
- a qualification from a Registered Training Organisation at Certificate IV level or above;
- the completion of at least one year full-time or equivalent in a degree course at a higher education institution.
In addition to the minimum eligibility requirements the following specific entry requirements apply to entry to this program. All applicants are required to:
- submit a 500 word essay (specified on the application form), and
- attend an interview
Applicants who have not studies Mathematics at NSW HSC (or equivalent) level will be asked to undertake a diagnostic test to ascertain whether they have a sufficient level of mathematical attainment to achieve success in the program. Where an applicant does not display a sufficient level of mathematical attainment, they will be asked to undertake a recognised mathematics bridging program prior to commencing study in the Bachelor of Property Valuation.
If you do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements for this course, you can apply for entry into this course based on mature age or disadvantage. Talk to admissions staff at the campus you wish to study at if you wish to apply for special admission, and to find out what supporting evidence you will need to provide with your application.
In addition to proof of eligibility and course specific entry requirements, international student applicants whose first language is not English or who have not completed their secondary education in English or who have not completed an Australian educational qualification must demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum IELTS level of 6.5, with a minimum level of 6 in any one band.

Full time attendance is approx 16 hours per week over 6 semesters. Each semester has 12 teaching weeks, plus 2 study and assessment weeks. Full time students undertake 4 subjects each semester.

Domestic student tuition fees are calculated at $1,150.00 per subject. Students must successfully complete 24 subjects.
International student tuition fees are subject to the TAFE NSW Australia course fee structure. TAFE NSW Higher Education tuition fees are subject to change.

Planned attendance for semester 1 will be: Tuesday 9:00am - 1:00pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am - 5:00pm.
