    Course description and aims

    This program targets individuals who are already working in accounting and seek a professional qualification. It provides core industry competencies including commercial law, Australian taxation law, basic accounting principles and BAS agent registration, as well as contributing to the educational requirements for providing tax agent services.

    Students wishing to pursue a career as a tax agent must be registered with the Tax Practitioners Board and meet educational and other requirements for registration, including a designated period of experience. Students should ensure they have checked the current requirements when they apply for this course to ensure they make appropriate subject choices.
