    Course description and aims

    This qualification is for people who want to develop proficiency as a veterinary
    nursing manager or head veterinary nurse. It is the industry standard for
    veterinary nurses who provide a leadership role and apply advanced skills and
    knowledge in patient assessment, care and management within a veterinary
    workplace.

    Students undertaking study for this qualification require extensive vocational
    expertise and should expect that access through paid employment within a
    veterinary practice will be essential for meeting assessment requirements of
    some units of competency.

    To do this course you need access and regular exposure to patients, clients,
    consults, medical and surgical cases, veterinary staff, nursing, reception and
    administrative duties, practice policies, procedures, retail and customer
    service experiences.

    Entry requirements

    Entrants into ACM50512 Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (General Practice) are
    required to hold the 19 Core Units from the ACM40412 Certificate IV in
    Veterinary Nursing.

    Wednesday, 21 June from 11am to 12pm or 6pm to 7pm at Ultimo College, Main Campus, Maryann St, building D, level 7, room D7.49.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class a week over 1 day. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Tuesday, 10am to 4:30pm.
