Course description and aims
In this Course you will develop skills and knowledge required to understand and use Mandarin for commonly used expressions of an elementary nature in a business, workplace or community setting. On completion of this unit, you will be able to:
Â• Be courteous to customers, colleagues and the general public in simple Mandarin
Â• Communicate with customers, colleagues and the general public in simple Mandarin to support very simple business, workplace and community activities

This course is for people who already have some knowledge of spoken and written Mandarin and who want to further develop their Mandarin language skills for future study in Australia or overseas, or to communicate in Mandarin with business colleagues, family and friends.
In this course you will develop the Mandarin language skills and knowledge required to understand and use Mandarin with commonly used expressions of a very simple nature in a business, workplace or community setting. You will learn and practise very simple listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Mandarin.
On completion of this unit, you will be able to:
Â• Be courteous to customers, colleagues and the general public in very simple Mandarin
Â• Communicate with customers, colleagues and the general public in very simple Mandarin
to support very simple business, workplace and community activities

You will need to attend approximately 2 hours of class a week over 10 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Saturday 10:00am to 12:00pm. (TAFE Vacation: Saturday 23 & 30 September 2017).
