    About offering:

    The following certificate will be issued to students who successfully complete the course;

    AMSA Approved Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft other than Fast Rescue Boats, meeting the requirements of STCW Reg VI/2 and Code Section A-VI/2, Table A-VI/2-1.

    AMSA Eligibiility Requirements.

    - Be at least 18 years of age

    - Have completed at least 6 months documented qualifying sea service on vessels carrying survival equipment suitable for use on SOLAS vessels. It is recommended you check with AMSA regarding the current requirements.

    Indicative timetable:

    Full attendance and participation in ALL activities during the course will satisfy the required performance criteria as per AMSA requirements

    Fee information:

    Full payment of the course fee is required 3 days prior to the start of the class.

    Refund of the course fee is only due in the following circumstances

    In any other circumstances, full or partial refund of the course fee is at the discretion of the campus delegate.

    Other Information:

    COURSE AIM
    The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required effectively as a key member who is required to perform survival craft operations during shipboard emergency response operations.
    On completion of this course, participants should be able to
    - Take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch
    - Operate the survival craft
    - Manage survivors and craft after abandoning ship

    If you are travelling from interstate or overseas, please ensure that you book your flights on a fully refundable basis.
    Sydney TAFE reserves the right to cancel the course if insufficient registrations have been receive seven days from commencement of the course.
    Any fees paid for cancelled courses will be fully refunded as per TAFE policy.
