    Course description and aims

    In this course you will learn how to use efficient HTML coding practices to create webpages that work and will continue to work in the ever-changing world of web development. We will start from the ground up by learning how to implement modern web pages by using a simple text editor and writing HTML, CSS for styling and JavaScript code to make the pages dynamic.

    You will cover;
    * HTML page sections, HTML Elements (paragraphs, headings, images, links, etc.)
    * Mark up and format text
    * Add links and images
    * Design elements - colour, background, and page layout
    * How to style the HTML page with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)
    * How to apply CSS to parts of a web page
    * The fundamentals of JavaScript
    * How to make your pages more dynamic with basic JavaScript

    This course is a starting point for learning the basics of web development and is recommended for any aspiring web developers, mobile app developers
    After completing this course you become fully equipped to dive deep into our more advanced web development courses (Java or C#).

    No previous experience of these technologies is necessary, although it is required some basic computer literacy and proficiency on Windows, Apple Mac OS X or Linux.

    INFORMATION SESSION

    Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.

    Thursday, 8 February 2018 at 6:00pm at Ultimo College, Thomas Street Ultimo, Building G, Ground Level, Room GG.19.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class over 2 evenings a week for 4 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday and Wednesday, 6:00pm to 9:00pm plus two full Saturdays 10:00am to 4:30pm.
