    Course description and aims

    Looking to expand your object-orientated programming skills into the world of web development? Then learn ASP.NET MVC, the modern, open source web-development framework from Microsoft.
    ASP.NET MVC gives you a powerful, patterns-based way to build dynamic websites that enables a clean separation of concerns and that gives you full control over markup for enjoyable, agile development.
    We will teach you:
    1. Basics of ASP.NET MVC
    2. HTTP Application Protocol
    3. Routing and controllers
    4. Bootstrap CSS
    5. Views with Razor syntax
    6. Object relational mapping with Entity Framework
    7. Language Integrated Queries (LINQ)
    8. View models and data annotations
    9. Layered application architecture
    This is meant to provide you with all the skills you need to learn to develop your own ASP.NET MVC web applications.

    Once completed the applicants can expect to become proficient in essentials of web development with ASP.NET MVC.

    Course outcomes and careers

    Students may seek employment as junior web developers.

    Thursday, 12 April 2018 from 6:00pm at Ultimo College, Thomaas Street Ultimo, Building G, Ground Level, Room GG.19

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 9 hours of class over 2 to 3 days a week for 4 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday and Wednesday, 6:00pm to 9:00pm; plus two full Saturdays 10:00am to 4:30pm.
