    Course description and aims

    This course is suitable for people wanting to explore mould making and slip casting techniques. Through projects set by the teacher, you will begin by making a one piece mould and then develop 2 or 3 piece mould and experimental e. assemble complex forms.

    You will:
    - design forms with multiple pieces
    - learn to create a multi-piece moulds
    - learn to assemble slip cast pieces
    - learn to measure and mix correct amounts of plaster for mould making
    - learn to make your own casting slip.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend 3 hours of class 1 day per week for 18 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Wednesday, 10:00am to 1:00pm

    A Basic Ceramic Tool Kit will be required to successfully complete this course and can be purchased at your 1st class for $15.00. If you go on to further study you may decide to extend this tool kit with extra paint brushes, tools and specialist paints.
