Course description and aims
This course is suitable for people wanting to explore mould making and slip casting techniques. Through projects set by the teacher, you will begin by making a one piece mould and then develop 2 or 3 piece mould and experimental e. assemble complex forms.
- design forms with multiple pieces
- learn to create a multi-piece moulds
- learn to assemble slip cast pieces
- learn to measure and mix correct amounts of plaster for mould making
- learn to make your own casting slip.

Attend the following information session to meet with the teaching staff, discuss the course and get more information about enrolment and next steps.
Tuesday 4 April 2017 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Sutherland College, Gymea Campus, corner Kingsway & Hotham Road, Building A, Lower Ground Floor, Ceramics Studio 1
You will need to attend approximately 3 hours of class per week for 18 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Wednesday 10:00am to 1:00pm

A Basic Ceramic Tool Kit will be required to successfully complete this course and will cost approximately $15.00. If you go on to further study you may decide to extend this tool kit with extra paint brushes, tools and specialist paints.
