    Course description and aims

    This course is designed for you to develop skills in the popular software
    program ArchiCAD used by designers.

    The course will help you gain an understanding of the following:
    o Overview of the programme:
    - general orientation to the ArchiCAD working environment
    - description and working of tools
    - introducing the use of pens, materials, layers
    o Project based tutorial designed to develop an understanding of:
    - accurately drawing slabs, walls and roofs
    - manipulation of objects
    - using window door and object library parts
    o Generating 3D views of the model:
    - 3D paraline
    - perspectives
    - 3D sections
    o Shadow projection

    You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class a week over 1 day per week over 3 weeks. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: 3X Saturdays, 9:00am to 4:00pm.

    This course is designed for new users of Revit Architecture. In this course you will learn about the concepts of Building Information Modelling and introduce the basic tools for parametric building design and documentation using Revit Architecture. Other topics include such as how to produce 2D drawings,3D models and digital presentations using Revit Architecture software.

    Exploring the User Interface
    Creating Floor plans
    Creating and Modifying floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, doors, windows and levels
    Loading, adding and modifying components families
    Creating and modifying stairs and handrails
    Controlling object visibility
    Creating and modifying plan, elevation and section views
    Creating and modifying 3D views
    Placing dimensions and annotation
    Creating callout views
    Producing shadow studies
    Setting up sheets for printing
    Importing images and external files
    Building 3D topographical surfaces
    Window and Door labels
    Rendering 3D perspectives in the cloud
