    Course description and aims

    This course follows on from TAFE Statement in Hospitality Revenue Yield Management (165-200040V01) workshop and will develop the course outcomes through participation in a simulated hotel market. This course will deepen knowledge on revenue management practices in the Rooms department and introduce revenue management techniques to other areas of the hotel, namely Food & Beverage and Conference & Catering departments. Each evening participants will work in a revenue management team to manage the revenue of their hotel, competing against other hotels in the simulated market place learning how to maximise revenue, manage expenses and increase profits.
    You will learn:
    1. To correctly forecast occupancy.
    2. Analyse rates and productivity to make sound business decisions.
    3. Identify opportunities for marketing and stimulating revenue.
    4. Successfully apply Yield Management principles to any business enterprise

    Course outcomes and careers

    This workshop will prepare you for a career in Revenue Management either as a Revenue Manager or Analyst. Learn how to apply Revenue Management principles in the workplace to maximise profitability and target your pricing strategies.

    Participants must be Australian citizens or permanent resident visa holders, to qualify for the subsidised student contribution rate.

    Wednesday 2nd May 2018, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm at Ultimo Campus, Corner Harris and Thomas Streets, Ultimo, building E, level 4, room E4.38.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 4 hours of class a week over 1 evening per week. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Wednesday 5.30pm to 9:30pm.
