    Course description and aims

    This course is intended to provide participants with the following general education outcomes:
    - English language proficiency of Level 3 on the ISLPR® scale
    - English language proficiency to undertake qualifications requiring proficiency of ISLPR® 3, IELTS 5.5 or CEFR B2 on entry, which provide a pathway to access employment, training and community participation
    - English language entry requirement to TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5.5 at entry.

    Course outcomes and careers

    This course helps you gain intermediate academic English language and study skills to proceed to vocational study at TAFE NSW and other post-secondary education institutions.

    Recommended Pathways

    Completion of this course provides pathways into:
    - 10226NAT Certificate IV in English for Academic Purposes
    - further education and training requiring English language skills commensurate with ISLPR® 3, IELTS 5.5 or CEFR B2
    - other TAFE NSW Certificate courses requiring Year 10 or equivalent
    - TAFE NSW courses requiring IELTS 5.5.

    Indicative timetable:

    You will need to attend approximately 19 hours of class a week over 4 days per week. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am to 2:30pm.
