The signs are good for your future

Do you have a creative streak? Do you love working with your hands? Studying a course in painting or sign writing means you could join a busy and interesting industry and even work towards running your own business.

You’ll learn how to work from sketches, work with computers and combine creativity with practical designs. You’ll create billboards, road signs, logos, labels, business signs and much, much more.

You’ll plan designs for residential and commercial spaces, learn the best techniques, and create amazing work. It’s a hand-on career in an industry with great opportunities.

Signage apprentice taking on the world

Brenden Watson is taking his Sydney TAFE-honed skills far beyond the walls of Sydney TAFE. Thanks to a supportive employer, his training means he is now helping to develop the company’s production methods and align the business with modern technology in signage.

He also applied his skills to winning the regional WorldSkills competition – where apprentices pit their skills against the best – and now hopes for greater glory when he competes at the national titles in Perth.

“TAFE can open up so many options,” says Brenden. “You can make a network of friends who are willing to help you.”

Build new career skills

Sydney TAFE offers you the opportunity of adding value to your skill-set through other programs, from a Work Health & Safety (WH&S) course to a Business Advanced Diploma.
