Marjorie comes from a Spanish background and is studying interpreting at night while working full-time. She is inspired by her teachers and by learning skills that can make a difference in the community.

Marjorie loves travelling and would like to take her skills to work overseas and one day work as an interpreter for the UN.

From Sydney TAFE to a degree

Create your own pathway from a diploma-level course in either translating or interpreting through to advanced diploma courses in both areas at Sydney TAFE. Certificate-level Auslan courses are also available.

The advanced diploma programs offer credit transfer to fast-track your degree after you finish your Sydney TAFE course.

Real languages for the real world

Sydney TAFE gives you the opportunity to learn a language other than English, at a variety of learning levels, across a multitude of the most common languages. If you’ve always dreamed of doing a French language course, speaking Spanish like a local or mastering Mandarin for travel or work, these are just a few of the real world language courses on offer.

Keely Double is studying Spanish at Sydney TAFE. She says her studies have given her the opportunity to not only learn a language spoken all over the world, but meet new friends and experience different cultures, all through an accredited course.
