Yun-tsun ‘Sean’ Tsai is in the process of completing the Fitness Certificate III  as part of a Sydney TAFE vocational HSC course. He chose Sydney TAFE because he needs a fitness qualification as well as an ATAR to attend university and further his sports science studies.

“The teachers at Sydney TAFE make it really easy to understand, even when I’m using English as my second language,” says Sean.

Sydney TAFE can recognise your knowledge and life/work experience so you finish your qualification faster.

If you are already working in the industry and want to build on your career, you can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) so you don’t have to study what you already know.

Getting fit for a great career

Melodee chose to study at Sydney TAFE because of its reputation and high standards. She had previously studied at Sydney TAFE, and taking a diploma of fitness has enabled her to step up in her career.

“I’ve always loved fitness and I’ve previously worked with older people,” says Melodee. “So what I want to do is help older people to have a healthy life by staying fit.

“Through gentle exercise I can also assist people with injuries. The training I’m currently receiving will help me make a difference in the lives of these people.”

From Sydney TAFE to a degree

Successfully completing the of Sport and Recreation Management Diploma at Sydney TAFE may offer you credit transfer so you can fast-track your degree. For instance, you will be able to gain credit towards a bachelor degree in business administration at the Australian Catholic University.

A Remedial Massage Diploma course with Sydney TAFE may give you credit towards a Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine) at Charles Sturt University.
